AFTER YOUR ARREST

After Your Arrest

Affordable DWI Lawyer

Mr. Pate has been in the DWI business since 2007. Listed below are some things that you should know about the timeline of your DWI defense. Many things that happen after your arrest are important; there are several necessary steps to take. It will no doubt be necessary to rest and recuperate, but a couple of items should be taken care of first.

WITHIN A DAY - What needs to be done the day after I get out of jail?

First thing's first: get your car back. Many times, the police will have towed your car, and most tow yards will charge you per day until you come get your car. If you need help finding your car, feel free to contact our office at (210) 718-0271.

Get a little bit of rest. Take a breather. The next couple of weeks to couple of years will likely be stressful.

You just got out of a night that was tiresome at best. Take a bath and a nap. You have several important tasks ahead of you, and it is best that you give yourself a second to recuperate before you begin dealing with the situation in a panicked state.

WITHIN 3 DAYS - What needs to be done in the first few days after a DWI arrest?

Preserving what you remember of the arrest is very important. We highly encourage our clients to write out what happened both before and during your interaction with the police. A trial could be several years away, and details can be important. It is also helpful to ask those who were with you that night to write out what they remember. Collecting receipts and phone records could be the key to the case.

Contact a lawyer, of course! While we obviously want your business, many clients decide to talk to several law offices before making a decision. If that is your plan, you certainly don’t want to wait too long. There is a deadline to file your ALR hearing within 15 days of your arrest, and it is best to have a lawyer request that hearing for you. If you would like to talk to one of our aggressive DWI lawyers about your case, contact us at (210) 718-0271.

WITHIN 10 DAYS - What should I do within the first 10 days?

Hire a lawyer. The deadline to request your ALR is 15 days from the day of your arrest.

By the time this deadline has passed, it is best to have a lawyer on your case. This is where a good DWI defense begins. If you want to talk to us about representing you for the ALR hearing, contact our office immediately.
